As of September 30, 2015, a total of 349 bankruptcy judgeships were authorized and funded. Of these judgeships, 330 were filled and 19 were vacant (the same numbers as one year earlier). In addition to judges in authorized positions, 44 retired bankruptcy judges who had been recalled by various circuits were providing service to the Judiciary at the end of 2015.
