In Pathways Video, Federal Judge Recalls Coming of Age in Civil Rights Era

Published on February 18, 2014

African American History Month, celebrated every February, this year occurs during the 50th anniversary of the 1964 Civil Rights Act and of Freedom Summer, two landmark events that helped end legal segregation in America.

Gregory, of Richmond, Va., tells his story about coming of age during the civil rights movement, and his positive memory of entering a desegregated high school in his senior year. “We came together, and we found the common ground that had been denied us for so long,” he said.
