The Fergus Falls Courthouse in Minnesota recently was renamed to honor a distinguished federal jurist – Judge Edward J. Devitt.

Chief Judge Michael J. Davis (D. Minn.) presided over the ceremony, which was attended by Senator Amy Klobuchar (D-MN) and Representative Collin Peterson (D-MN), who had introduced legislation to rename the courthouse after Judge Devitt.

In this On Topic, three federal judges who knew Judge Devitt, Judges Paul Magnuson and John Tunheim, both of the District of Minnesota, and Judge Myron Bright of the Eighth Circuit Court of Appeals, share their memories.

“On Topic” is an interview series in which we discuss the programs, issues, events, and ideas shaping the federal courts.
