Over the past decade, the federal probation and pretrial services system continuously worked to incorporate evidence-based practices into policy, procedure, training, and day-to-day interactions with persons under supervision. This article examines the current state of the system in this process, and highlights some of its successes and shortfalls, using quantitative and qualitative work that has been conducted to evaluate evidence-based practices/programming within the current system.
