Abstract:
The Hero Help program was implemented in New Castle County, DE, by the county police department to reduce the number of opioid-related overdoses and associated fatalities. To enhance the program's efficiency, the police department hired a full-time Hero Help Coordinator. The authors conducted a preliminary process and impact evaluation that showed the hiring significantly increased successful outcomes for participants.
