Fees for Deposits into a Court’s Registry Funds Account
Use these guidelines to determine what registry fees are applicable to make a deposit into a federal court’s registry funds account based on the time period.
Fee for funds deposited before December 1, 1990
A one-time registry fee equal to the income earned during the first 45 days of the deposit. Thereafter, those registry deposits are not subject to additional fees, regardless of the amount or duration of the deposit.
Fee for funds deposited on or after December 1, 1990
A registry fee equal to a percentage of income (10% or less) based on the amount and duration of each deposit.
- For income earned between December 1, 1990, and February 2, 1992, the fee is a flat 10% of the income.
- For income earned on or after February 3, 1992, the fee is calculated using the percentages on Table 1, based on the size of the investment and the length of time that the investment funds are held.
