Abstract:
In the past 20 years, there has been a reemergence of interest in the effectiveness of correctional treatment programs; however, most studies have examined traditional residential treatment programs. The authors ask whether the risk and need principles apply to non-residential programs such as intensive supervision, examining the effects of program characteristics on recidivism.
