Burnout Prevention for Federal Probation and Pretrial Services Officers

In this article the authors consider the stresses that impact federal probation and pretrial services officers, how they can contribute to burnout, and what can be done to prevent burnout. They present Oldenburg Burnout Inventory data for 89 federal probation and pretrial officers and supervisors, and outline burnout prevention options to be considered by district offices.
