Overview of the Position | The U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota is seeking to hire a full-time Judicial Assistant for Chief Judge Patrick J. Schiltz. This position is located in the chief judge’s chambers of the Diana E. Murphy U.S. Courthouse in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The successful candidate will manage the day-to-day operations of the chief judge’s office, including scheduling appointments and meetings, preparing reports, drafting correspondence, coordinating the hiring of law clerks and judicial externs, organizing programs and receptions, making travel arrangements for the chief judge, scheduling interpreters, copying, and filing. The ideal candidate will display initiative, good judgment, professionalism, follow-through, the ability to multi-task and quickly adapt to fast-changing priorities, excellent organizational skills, a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain the confidentiality of highly sensitive matters. The ideal candidate will play a key role in representing our court and engaging with attorneys, litigants, members of the public, and visitors in a positive, enthusiastic, and professional manner. The judicial assistant for the chief judge will be the first point of contact for many people with the federal court system, and the ability to make a lasting, welcoming impression is critical. |
