Overview of the Position The Financial Specialist prepares, updates, and analyzes a variety of accounting records, financial statements, and reports. The incumbent oversees and assists with accounts payable and accounts receivable activities as well as other financial activities for multiple court units. Position Description

  • Maintain, reconcile, and analyze accounting and other fiscal records.
  • Review and/or perform accounts payable and accounts receivable duties.
  • Prepare, update, examine, and analyze a variety of regular and non-standard reports.
  • Design, develop, and maintain spreadsheet formats and programs for analyzing financial information for the court.
  • Maintain and analyze accounting records. Prepare checks, monthly reports, 1099 and 1096 forms, and coordinate annual internal and external audits.
  • Assist Contracting Officers with all phases of procurement activities and reporting.
  • Assist and serve as back-up for travel-related activities and reporting.
  • Assist with the formulation, evaluation, and implementation of policies, procedures, and protocols related to financial operations and budgetary execution.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or necessary.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications  

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Two years of full‐time specialized experience related to the position.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with the ability to interpret and analyze data, develop reports, and effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Exceptional ability to self-manage, work independently as well as collaboratively with team members and in cross-department environments, manage multiple tasks and competing priorities simultaneously, and committed to excellent customer service.
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office products, including Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Professional demeanor and the ability to work well with executives, court personnel, vendors, contractors, and others outside of the agency.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Excellent GPA.
  • Familiarity with the court’s financial management system.
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint and Project.
