Overview of the Position | The U.S. District Court for the District of Minnesota is seeking a Courtroom Deputy for Chief District Judge Patrick J. Schiltz, in Minneapolis, Minnesota. The Courtroom Deputy manages the Chief Judge’s caseload and provides courtroom and other assistance by scheduling trials, hearings, and other activities, attending court proceedings, handling the juries, drafting and entering orders and judgments, and compiling minutes and statistical reports. This job requires a high level of knowledge of court and courtroom operations. The person selected for the position must be a professional with excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and a close attention to detail. The typical work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. (On infrequent occasions, additional hours may be required, such as when a jury deliberates into the evening.) |
