Overview of the Position: The courtroom deputy manages a judge’s cases by ensuring that all documents are accurately filed in CM/ECF; by keeping cases moving and deadlines current through monitoring in CM/ECF the filing of pertinent documents and timely responses to judicial orders; and by setting dates and times for hearings, trials, and conferences, as directed by the judge. Keeps the judge, judge’s staff, and team members informed of case progress.

Position Description

Qualification

Qualifications must be met at the time of the application.

Required: High school graduation or equivalent is required. A bachelor’s degree is preferred. Must possess at least two years of specialized experience. Prior court or legal experience is preferred.

Specialized Experience

Progressively responsible clerical or administrative experience requiring the regular and recurring application of clerical procedures that demonstrate the ability to apply a body of rules, regulations, directives, or laws and involve the routine use of specialized terminology and automated software and equipment for word processing, data entry, or report generation. Such experience is commonly encountered in court judicial systems, law firms, legal counsel offices, banking and credit firms, educational institutions, social service organizations, insurance companies, and real estate and title offices.
